Erectile Dysfunction Self Diagnosis Guide in 3 Easy Steps

What is erectile dysfunction and should men in Australia be worried about it

Stay Hard During Sex

Most people have heard the term erectile dysfunction at some point in their life but many do not understand exactly what the condition is and how it works. Erectile dysfunction most commonly affects men who are in their forties or above but it may also affect men much younger than them. Typically, erectile dysfunction is the result of Aging but sometimes psychological factors may play a role such as depression or anxiety. Other times, erectile dysfunction may be the result of a physical injury to the groin area or other parts of the body that may prevent an erection from occurring. Since an erection occurs when a penis becomes enlarged, you may assume that the process responsible for making one occur stems from the growing region. However, the signal that starts an erection originates from the brain and must travel all the way to the groin region.

In order to understand how erectile dysfunction works you must understand that it is more than just the penis involved in the process. When a man becomes sexually stimulated, a signal is sent by the brain autonomously and when it reaches the blood vessels carrying blood to the penis it causes them to expand. As these blood vessels enlarge it allows more blood to flow into the penis. At the same time, the signal causes the blood vessels carrying blood away from the penis to constrict. This uneven pressure results in the shaft of the penis filling with blood and becoming hard. This process is not one that can be triggered purposely but rather occurs automatically when a man is sexually stimulated. However, when a man has erectile dysfunction the signal does not reach the intended areas and does not take effect. That is because it can be blocked before it ever reaches the blood vessels carrying blood to and away from the penis.

If you think you are suffering from erectile dysfunction you may be wondering what you should do. There is a rather simple solution that involves going to a doctor and explaining the symptoms you are experiencing. Your doctor can diagnose your erectile dysfunction and prescribe medications or other forms of treatment in order to combat the condition. Some males may experience erectile dysfunction as a result of some kind of stressor or psychological trauma. Much like people who experience social anxiety when trying to urinate in public, erectile dysfunction can be stalled when a person is overly anxious or suffering from depression. This form of erectile dysfunction is more common in younger adult males. Don’t males who are over the age of 40 tend to experience erectile dysfunction as a result of age. Some processes of the body simply begin to fail as the body grows older and ability to get an erection falls into that category.

Let’s talk about the different types of treatment to use to combat erectile dysfunction. These treatments can range from psychological therapy to counseling and even pharmaceutical drugs. Erectile dysfunction is a condition that has been around for a very long time and there have been many attempts at forming a solution throughout history. The first cures for erectile dysfunction appeared thousands of years ago and people  have been combating the condition with various remedies and superstitions throughout the years. one such superstition that has been popular for quite some time is that rhinoceros horn can cure erectile dysfunction. This has resulted in their horns being poached and ground into powder and sold on the black market for hundreds of years. Misuse of rhinoceros horn has even contributed towards the species current predicament and near-extinction levels.

As mentioned before, it is best to seek treatment from your doctor and inform them of the symptoms you are experiencing as soon as possible. In addition to informing your doctor, you should also inform your partner any symptoms you are experiencing. While it may be embarrassing, it can go a long ways towards saving a relationship. If a man is not open with their partner about the symptoms of erectile dysfunction they are experiencing that can result and unneeded stress on the relationship. Partners may begin to blame themselves for your lack of interest in sex or it may force you to come up with excuses for why the moment is never right. Honestly is always the best policy when it comes to erectile dysfunction, even when it isn’t easy to do.

Erectile Dysfunction and how and why it happens with tips on treatment

I have always been seen as someone who is confident. A father, husband, and brother, I have always been looked up to in my life. For a long time, things were going great. My job was awesome, my family life was great, and my sexual life was still doing well for someone my age with kids.

ED Treatments

However, everything changed when I started suffering from ED. I felt like the lack of performance in my sexual life started to impact everything. I was less sure of myself, less confident, and eventually I felt less successful. I felt bad for not being able to please my beautiful life and wondered if I was lacking in other areas as well and had only just started to notice.

I floundered for a while, not sure what to do. I am a proud man and reaching out for help hasn’t always been my strong suit. My wife knew of my struggles but said little to me because she knew how much it was bothering me. I did not know what to do. My job started to feel more like a job, I felt more frustrated with my family easier, and my love life seemed to fade away.

I am also a very lucky man. Finally my brother noticed something was up and reached out for me to talk. We met over a beer and I spilled my heart out to him. Everything that had been bothering me, everything that was going wrong in my life. I was surprised to see that my brother seemed to understand. Turns out, he had also been through something similar. It was not as apparent as he is divorced and does not always have a sexual partner.

“Everybody gets old.” He told me. “But this is something you can control.” He told me that I needed to see a doctor and to not let this seemingly small thing run my great life into the ditch. It was not worth it.

I scheduled a doctor’s appointment with my family doctor in Sydney two weeks later. Come the day of the appointment, I felt nervous. It seemed so stupid to be nervous about this but I knew I had to go through with this despite. The visit went pretty routine, doc giving me flak about my diet and less than desired physique, the works.

Finally, the doc sat back and asked if I had any questions. Once more, I spilled about the worries I had and the lack of performance in the bedroom. He too understood. “Erectile dysfunction.” He told me. I finally had a name for what was so affecting my life.

He prescribed me some medication to pick up at the pharmacy and also gave me serious diet changes. There was not a magic cure-all for this, he told me. I had to work to get back what I had lost.

As I left the clinic and stepped out into the sweltering heat, everything clicked for me. It was not just my diet and medication that I needed to alter, I needed to change so many things in my life! I picked up the meds on the way home and reminded myself to be more patient and understanding with my family. I could not let my temper shorten.

I applied the same concepts to my work as well. I can not say that things improved right away. That only happens in movies and stories. It took some work and life changes to improve myself. I kept my brother’s words in my mind every time I felt discouraged or wanted to snap. This is something I could control.

I can say things are better now. I have learned to be a kinder, more open man. My performance has improved from the medications but I have had honest and frank conversations with my wife how to be better to her in the bedroom and that alone really improved things between us. My family life feels better than ever, the sex is great again, and my work feels much less like work now.

Erectile dysfunction was something of a blessing in disguise. It taught me to look at things differently and not let life control me. I am in control now and it is great.

Premature ejaculation in simple terms can be said to be the inability of a man to control his ejaculation during sexual intercourse. This means he ejaculates within a minute of penetration and therefore not satisfied with his performance and leaving his sexual companion unsatisfied as well. It is estimated that 1 out of 3 men suffer from premature ejaculation at some point in their life. It should be noted that if this does not happen to a man consistently then there is nothing to worry about but in a situation where ejaculating prematurely has become a regular phenomenon that is when there is a problem. You could be suffering from premature ejaculation if the following circumstances surround your sex life:

Always Ejaculating within one minute of penetration or even due to slight sexual stimulation

Inability to hold off or delay ejaculation at all  times during sexual encounters

A strong feeling of worry, frustration and shying away from sexual encounters as a result of your situation

The factors responsible for premature ejaculation studies have shown to range from psychological  and biological.

Psychological Causes of Premature Ejaculation

The following are considered the psychological causes of premature ejaculation

  • Exposure to too early sexual experiences in life
  • Having been exposed to Sexual abuse
  • Poor body image
  • Suffering from Depression
  • Being overly conscious of ejaculating prematurely premature
  • Rushing through sexual intercourse due to a feeling of guilt
  • Erectile dysfunction, Anxiety and issues in relationships can also be a cause of premature ejaculation

Biological causes of Premature Ejaculation

A number of biological factors might contribute to premature ejaculation, including:

  • Abnormality in  hormone levels
  • Abnormality in the  levels of the brain chemicals known as neurotransmitters
  • Inflammation and infection of the prostate or urethra
  • Some inherited traits can also cause premature ejaculation
  • Due to the male Ego and other factors lots of men find it difficult to discuss this problem with anyone and feel embarrassed about the situation and therefore are unable to get help. It should be known that premature ejaculation can be cured and treated with a combination of medications, counseling and the use of some sexual techniques that can help delay ejaculation during sexual encounters.

Medical treatments for Premature Ejaculation

A number of medical treatments can be of assistance in treating and curing premature ejaculation

  • Anti-depressants- Some anti-depressants can be used to help delay ejaculation although the FDA are yet to approve the use of anti-depressants for the treatment of premature ejaculation. Secondly usage of these anti-depressants may come with some side effects such as dry mouth, nausea and drowsiness and and might also decrease sexual desire.
  • Medications for the treatment of erectile dysfunction can also be of help in treating premature ejaculation
  • Application of anesthetic creams to the head of the penis can also help to delay erection by making the area less sensitive. it is usually applied 30 minutes before sex and washed off once it has decreased the feelings on the penis. It must be washed off before sex as leaving it on may cause a loss of erection and vaginal numbness.
  • Wearing a condom for some men can also help delay erection by making the penis less sensitive.

Other Treatment Methods

  • Psychological Help:  Emotional issues like depression and anxiety may cause premature ejaculation, Speaking to a therapist may help in solving this problem
  • Behavioral methods: Behavioral methods like the start and stop method of delaying ejaculation can help build control over ejaculation. The squeeze method of squeeze the penis when the urge for ejaculation draws near is also another method to help delay ejaculation.

Medication used to treat premature ejaculation shows promise

Premature Ejaculation is one of those “taboo” subjects that no one ever really feels comfortable talking about, this leads to alot of misconceptions and stigma to be associated with it when in fact it is much more common than people think. Premature Ejaculation is what happens when a male reaches orgasm and ejaculates quicker than he or his partner would like. Roughly 30 percent or 1 in 3 males globally experiences premature ejaculation at some point in their lives, I know I have.

This can cause feelings of inadequacy, loss of confidence in yourself both sexually and mentally, and can be damaging to your mental/emotional health if you focus on it too much. It can become a self fulfilling prophecy to where the more you think about and obsess over it, the more likely it is to happen. This can be triggered by depression, stress and performance anxiety which again can sometimes make itself worse when you compound it with confidence issues or relationship problems. It can however be caused by physical factors as well, such as hypertension, thyroid issues, diabetes, erectile dysfunction or even prostate disease. It can however be dealt with in a few ways depending on the root cause.

I recommend you discuss with your doctor first if it’s becoming an issue between you and your partner as they may be able to determine the underlying physical factor and provide medications such as Viagra, Levitra or Cialis if it’s related to E.D. or they may schedule a prostate exam or examine your thyroid. If however, it is not caused by a physical factor but by behavioral, mental or emotional ones then there is still hope and I recommend you see a therapist, especially with your partner. Preferably a “Sex-Therapist” as they are specially trained and have dealt with this issue many many times, I assure you.

There are behavioral techniques one can use to refocus and retrain yourself

You need to be comfortable with your partner first and foremost in order to feel safe. There is the “start/stop” technique where you or your partner masturbate you just until you almost reach orgasm then stop. Wait 30 seconds and continue to repeat the process 5-6 more times. Doing so will build up a resistance to ejaculating too early, think of it as any other form of exercise! Over time you will learn to control your orgasm easier. There is also the “squeeze” method that is similar to the method described above but just as you go to reach orgasm, you or your partner grabs the head of your penis and squeezes with moderate pressure (not enough to cause pain!) until the erection subsides. You then repeat the process like you would for the “start/stop” method. Both of these methods act the same way and build a physical resistance to early orgasm. A technique I personally used when I was younger was doing equations in my head before I reached climax. I would start with simple addition or subtraction a

nd the closer I came to finishing the more complex I would make them, eventually using multiplication and division. Reciting your timetables in your head works too. It’s all a matter of distracting the mind so it doesn’t feel the physical: a sort of mind over matter if you will. You don’t have to use math, you can use anything that interests you: baseball scores, hockey lineups, etc. If, after trying these techniques for awhile doesn’t improve your “staying” power there are still other options and medications that can be used to treat premature ejaculation. Antidepressants and certain pain relievers like Tramadol or even numbing creams or gels may be effective in dealing with P.E. But before using any form of medication please consult your doctor first.

Wearing a condom has been shown to desensitize the area and make men last longer, also masturbating before you have intercourse has been shown to also help with staying power. I hope this article was informative and has helped put into perspective how common P.E. is and how it can be treated. It starts with yourself and your confidence. Now go get her Tiger!

Premature Ejaculation: Why It’s Not as Bad as You Might Think

“Just think about baseball” or so goes the standard line about how to stop premature ejaculation problems. Oh if it were that easy it wouldn’t be the age old problem that it is.

From the time they were young children some men have been overstimulated, over exposed and under touched and loved. As a result when they finally do have the opportunity to receive stimulation their senses can’t handle it and they lose it rather rapidly.

For me the key question is, is this an insurmountable, permanent problem or is it a condition that has developed through environmental factors and upbringing and stimulus issues. It certainly is not a incurable issue and with proper treatment, communication, practice and awareness it can be overcome and in fact can become something that can lead to heightened sexual experience.

First and foremost there has to be a recognition that this is an issue

It is not an accident, or an occasional misstep. It is something that happens too often and can lead to an incomplete love life and to difficult lovemaking experiences. It can lead to awkward relationship situations, breakups and long term frustration. People can grow out of it with experience and exposure but that is not what we are talking about here. We are referring to a situation that needs compassion and treatment.

So what to do? Well first one would need to discuss things with your partner

Communication cannot be overemphasised here. This is not an easy topic to discuss. Check your ego at the door. You are looking for assistance and compassion. If your partner truly cares for you they will be willing and happy to help you through this difficulty. Discuss what the issue is, how it makes you feel and what you might need to get through it. There are multiple resources available online. Further a qualified sex therapist will also be a great help here in guiding your conversations.

Second one would need to discuss some desensitising principles and practices

A primary cause of premature ejaculation is that one is too sensitive to stimuli and reacts to quickly when stimulated. Practice touching, non sexual at first and gradually working one way further and further through the spectrum. It is very important not to rush things. The tendency can be to let a little success lead to declaring victory and that will only lead to short term success.

Go slow and steady. Stimulus, response and repeat

Over time you and your partner will feel better and better. Keep going. Make sure to repeatedly thank your partner for their assistance and care and love.

One other consideration is not to get too disappointed by a set back

This happens to virtually everyone. What you are trying to get to is where this situation does not repeatedly hamper your sexual health or your relationship health. Where it is not interfering with your thinking and behavior. Where it is not sitting on your shoulder and telling you to ” think about baseball”

With patience, common sense, good guidance and a lot of love and caring, premature ejaculation problems are very much an issue with a solution. IT should not cause someone too much fear and insecurity as they move through their lives towards a mature sexuality.

Finishing Too Soon? How to Treat Premature Ejaculation

What Can Be Done About Premature Ejaculation

Premature ejaculation something that no man wants to find out he has. It’s a problem that can manifest itself out of nowhere and is very inconvenient. Some of the worst aspects of having premature ejaculation is being unable to satisfy your partner with sexual intercourse. Premature ejaculation leaves a man struggling to not ejaculate in bad timing situations. Sometimes it can happen far sooner than one wants other times it can happen at a time not during sex at all. There are also variations of this condition known as rapid ejaculation, premature climax, and the inability to climax at all. Dealing with them can involve going to your doctor and describing the symptoms you are experiencing. Some man-made finds that it is too embarrassing to go to the doctor for this issue.

The reality is premature ejaculation can be treated and it can be treated relatively easily with certain drugs. And who suffer from this condition are also not alone as up to 30% to 40% of men experience this problem. This condition is known to have adverse effects on both the male and their partner in relationships. One fact worth noting is that the inability to control ejaculation is usually not due to an actual medical condition but rather secondary symptoms including anxiety, stress, and depression. Therefore many cases of premature ejaculation are actually the results of underlying psychological conditions. Some solutions involved Psychotherapy, summon balls pills such as sildenafil 20 mg, another Solutions involved small packages of hand wipes with benzocaine and numb for numbing the penis.

Most of the time a simple series of counseling meetings with a mental health professional and some appointments with your doctor can help treat premature ejaculation. The only way to know whether your condition can be easily treated or if it is based on an actual medical condition is by going to your doctor. Making notes of when you experience premature ejaculation can help your doctor accurately assess and diagnose you. It doesn’t take much to jot down in a journal when you experience a problem, the time, and a few other descriptors. Is can help your doctor quickly identify whether you are dealing with the one-time problem, something that requires counseling, or a serious medical condition.

Premature ejaculation doesn’t just have negative effects on a man’s self confidence it also has a negative impact on their partner. Partners often blame themselves for the lack of a normal sexual relationship. Having problems with your sex life can lead to more anxiety and depression which can worsen the condition. It is best to break the cycle by going to your doctor and devising a treatment plan that works for both you and your partner to work through it.

What a man can do to help prevent hair loss: 8 essential tips

Male Pattern Baldness Causes

A lot of people joke that being an infant and being old are the same: no teeth, can’t control bathroom habits, can’t really function, and most importantly no hair.

I wanna tell you my story about men’s hair loss and the impact it had on my life.

I knew I was going to have an issue with hair loss early on. Just by looking at the different men in my family I could see it’d be only a matter of time before my hairline began to recede. I didn’t realize just how soon that would be.

Most men experience hair loss later on in their life. Usually it doesn’t rear it’s ugly bald head until they’re in their 30’s or later. Not me. I began to see hair thinning and my actual hairline receding already in high school. It was easy enough to hide. Hats, posing, even growing out my hair to try to hide it was enough- but ultimately a temporary fix.

College it was still pretty easy to hide, but I felt uncomfortable being forced to wear hats all the time or feel uncomfortable because I seemed to be the only person hitting hairline levels that a 45 year old should have. One day I was having an honest conversation with a good friend and they suggested I just shave everything off.

It seemed like a good option at first. Nobody really would wonder why a 20 something year-old had absolutely no hair. I felt confident for the first time in many years. However, as time went on, the constant upkeep of keeping my head close shaved (and so cold) began to wear on me. Some people had joked with me too, saying I looked like a ‘skinhead’. It wasn’t a comfortable thing to be called, even if it was in a joking manner.

Still, I didn’t know where to go. I was going to shortly be entering into the professional world, you couldn’t really wear a hat to work everyday, even if at all. Being a ‘skinhead’ at work wasn’t really anything of an option either.

I began to consider alternative options. I wasn’t going to be one of those old dudes with really bad toupees or comb-overs. I couldn’t really do it. I was highly skeptical of the ‘miracle’ hair growth serums, and even more wary of their hefty price tags. What other options did I have?

I searched the internet vigorously to try to find some sort of solution for myself. I began the tedious process of attempting to grow out my hair. I was pretty discouraged though, more of my hairline had disappeared since I had decided to buzz everything off. To be honest, I am still looking for something that’ll really work for me.
