I have always been seen as someone who is confident. A father, husband, and brother, I have always been looked up to in my life. For a long time, things were going great. My job was awesome, my family life was great, and my sexual life was still doing well for someone my age with kids.

My performance has improved from the medications but I have had honest and frank conversations with my wife how to be better to her in the bedroom and that alone really improved things between us. My family life feels better than ever, the sex is great again, and my work feels much less like work now. 

Erectile dysfunction was something of a blessing in disguise. It taught me to look at things differently and not let life control me. I am in control now and it is great.

This can cause feelings of inadequacy, loss of confidence in yourself both sexually and mentally, and can be damaging to your mental/emotional health if you focus on it too much. It can become a self fulfilling prophecy to where the more you think about and obsess over it, the more likely it is to happen. This can be triggered by depression, stress and performance anxiety which again can sometimes make itself worse when you compound it with confidence issues or relationship problems. It can however be caused by physical factors as well, such as hypertension, thyroid issues, diabetes, erectile dysfunction or even prostate disease. However, as time went on, the constant upkeep of keeping my head close shaved (and so cold) began to wear on me. Some people had joked with me too, saying I looked like a ‘skinhead’. It wasn’t a comfortable thing to be called, even if it was in a joking manner. 

 

Still, I didn’t know where to go. I was going to shortly be entering into the professional world, you couldn’t really wear a hat to work everyday, even if at all. Being a ‘skinhead’ at work wasn’t really anything of an option either.
